The story so far .....
Sheffield Storm All Stars were set up in Oct 2007. The aim was to give young athletes in Sheffield an outlet to get fit, have fun and compete at a National level.
In Jan 2008 the first STORM squad, Storm Electric were chosen from over 100 applicants. The all-girl squad progressed at an amazing rate considering it started with complete beginners and within 6 months were performing elite level stunts and had developed solid stunting techniques. STORM Electric set their sights high with their first competition being the Future Cheer International Championships in Brighton where they came a respectable 4th place! They followed this up with another fantastic performance at the ICC British Open in March 2009 before a 9 month break due to issues with coaches. In June 2010, STORM it was relaunched with the All Girl level 3 team competed in 2 competitions within the 2010/2011 season, finishing 4th at FC Heart of England and 12th at ICC Nationals.
In May 2011, the club went through a series of changes with Vickie Bracken taking over the running of the program from Coral and relocating the team from Sheffield to Rotherham to make use of the fantastic facility at the Rotherham School of Gymnastics. Boasting a full sized sprung floor used at the 2010 European Gymnastics Championships, Birmingham, built in surround sound system as well as ample space and equipment it was decided that this would be an opportunity that the program couldn't miss out on. With a permanent venue and one full season under our belt, we now feel ready to expand. Our junior team will finally be launched in February 2013 and we're looking to expand the program further in the next few seasons.
So more than ever, watch this space.....a STORM is coming!!
